Hóllyweird: The Beginning

So Ed moved to California to be in the movies, as so many people do. He was born in Guatemala, but immigrated with his parents when he was young. Grew up in West Virginia, he said he always knew he had to get out of there some day. He was in Ohio going to college, and he came out to UCLA one year for summer school, and just never went back. He thought he’d be an actor, but quickly saw that he wanted to make movies. He wanted to make indie movies about Latinos. Real latinos. Real stories about being Latinx, about growing up first generation, about dealing with stereotypes and racism. And so he started taking every film class he could, first at USC and then at LACC. He learned about casting and color and camera angles and producing. He worked nights, so he could write during the day. And he started the script for Hóllyweird. #latinos, #LAlife, #acting
